Projects

There are 32 MoLeNET projects in 2007/08. All projects are led by English FE colleges and the main focus is mobile learning in the learning and skills sector but schools and some other education and training providers are also involved in MoLeNET project consortia.

MoLeNET project consortia include:

schools, universities, work based learning providers, local learning partnerships, regional development par tnerships, hospitals, nurseries, local age concern, home care agencies, nursing homes, local authorities, children and young people strategic par tnerships, adult education services and specialist colleges and charities.

MoLeNET projects target diverse audiences including:

  • 14–16 year olds preparing for specialised diplomas;
  • 16–19 year old and 19+ workbased learners and apprentices;
  • 14–19 year olds not in education, employment or training (NEETs);
  • skills for life and job readiness learners;
  • adult returners; adult learners;
  • ex-offenders and those at risk of offending or exclusion;
  • English as a second or other language (ESOL) learners and
  • their families;
  • Learners with disabilities or learning difficulties and
  • non-traditional learners.

Subject areas being address by the MoLeNET projects include:

dental nursing, business administration, customer service, warehouse and distribution, engineering, health & social care,
construction, catering, child care, engineering, hair and beauty, beauty therapy, media, performing ar ts, hairdressing, motor vehicle, land based, art & design; literacy and numeracy and Key Stage 4
