Sal Cooke

Sal Cooke at JISC Techdis

Sal Cooke came to JISC TechDis from a very wide background in e-learning. Originally teaching in Schools, Colleges of Further Education and Universities. Sal was seconded in the 1980s to work as the Curriculum Development Officer responsible for the integration of IT across Yorkshire and the Humber. From this post Sal was further seconded to various national agencies working across all sectors, including finally within the Department for Education and Skills itself, where Sal sat as a member of the E-learning Programme Board working on the e-Learning Strategy.

Sal’s enthusiasm and passion for her subject is well known, and as a result JISC TechDis is now working across all the major support organisations and agencies within post 16 and Higher Education across the UK.

Sal has recently successfully completed a Charity Trek for the Women for Women Charity in support of Lord Winston’s Research with regard to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a range of devastating conditions, which cause cancer, miscarriage, infertility and genetic diseases such as cystic fibrosis or muscular dystrophy, which in some cases lead to the disabilities that JISC TechDis encounters within its work.
