The EU 5th framework collaborative research and development programme
m-learning (2001-2004) experimented with the very latest mobile technologies, developed m-learning materials and systems and explored the potential of m-learning to reach out to some of the hardest to reach and most disadvantaged young people. The award winning Learning2Go partnership is currently the largest collaborative mobile learning project for pupils in the UK . The initiative, co-ordinated by Wolverhampton City Council, provides a pedagogical lead and shows how successfully mobile learning can be used to give students access to ‘anywhere, anytime' learning. Learning2Go is developing new ways of delivering exciting and motivating learning both in and beyond school. www.learning2go.org/
MOBIlearn was a worldwide European-led research and development project exploring context-sensitive approaches to informal, problem-based and workplace learning by using key advances in mobile technologies. The MOBIlearn project consortium involved 24 partners from Europe, Israel , Switzerland , USA and Australia . www.mobilearn.org/
